Summary: Malicious code in create-remotion (npm)
Details: Source: amazon-inspector (d31c0780d44a66914255959e786d3ef18ae49763037a2d714a0a610ef1cc1187) lib/report.js imports child_process, fs, https, and os and collects host identity and environment data via os.hostname(), os.userInfo(), execSync(...), and fs.readFileSync(...) calls at lines 20, 31, 72, 160 and 168. The collected data is sent via an https.request POST (lines 118, 121) to a hardcoded destination at hooks.zapier.com (line 12). The Zapier webhook is an author-controlled ingestion endpoint unrelated to any documented purpose of a create-remotion scaffolder, and the receiving of installer hostname, user info, and filesystem contents constitutes host reconnaissance and data exfiltration on install/run of the package. All secrets and keys stored on that computer should be rotated immediately from a different computer. The package should be removed, but as full control of the computer may have been given to an outside entity, there is no guarantee that removing the package will remove all malicious software resulting from installing it.
