Summary: Malicious code in bnpl-blocks-independent-bnpl-video (npm)
Details: Source: amazon-inspector (dab4ebaf15b60e320da6dd04630765fd36dc2c3a012360127653174a350e8c88) index.js require()s _bootstrap.js on module load. _bootstrap.js reassembles obfuscated hostnames via array-join (e.g. oob-worker.cf102-baf.workers.dev, oob-worker.cf103-070.workers.dev, oob-worker.cf99-9b3.workers.dev), fetches a platform-specific binary via https.get, writes it to /var/tmp or %TEMP% under a disguised name (.cache_<hex> on Unix, dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe on Windows), chmods 0755, and spawns it detached via /bin/sh -c '<path> &' or cmd.exe /c start /b. When HTTPS fetch fails, _bootstrap.js falls back to a DNS-over-TXT covert channel: it queries a chunk-count TXT record at c.<domain> against sdk.dl.wel1.ru / ext.dl.wel1.ru / pkg.dl.wel1.ru / net.dl.wel1.ru, then reassembles numbered base64-encoded TXT records into executable bytes that are written to disk and spawned. Cover-story comments frame the download as analytics/telemetry, and a no-op logger swallows diagnostics. Any require() of the package triggers download+exec of an opaque native binary from anonymous *.workers.dev endpoints on the installer's host.
