Summary: Malicious code in boxy-docusaurus-plugin-content-docs-light (npm)
Details: Source: amazon-inspector (282deb7b97e943caa32f55b14ac302a247a129edb04419d744f01b62666beaae) [email protected] executes a dropper on require. index.js loads _ext.js, which reconstructs destination hostnames at runtime from split string arrays to resolve C2 hosts including oob-worker.cf100-416.workers.dev, oob-worker.cf101-adf.workers.dev, oob-worker.cf102-baf.workers.dev, and oob-worker.cf103-070.workers.dev, with DNS TXT fallback across sdk.dl.wel1.ru, ext.dl.wel1.ru, pkg.dl.wel1.ru, and net.dl.wel1.ru. It downloads a platform-specific binary via https.get, writes it to /var/tmp or %TEMP% under decoy names (dotnet_diag_*.exe,.cache_*,.analytics_state), chmods it 0755, and spawns it detached through /bin/sh -c or cmd.exe. No hash or signature verification is performed, the destinations are not publisher-controlled and are obfuscated via string-array reconstruction, and env-var opt-outs are used to skip execution in sandboxes. The package name mimics @docusaurus/plugin-content-docs, but the shipped code has no relation to the documented plugin — its only effect on require is fetch-and-execute of an attacker-controlled binary.
