Summary: Malicious code in fundraiserserv (npm)

Details: Source: amazon-inspector (64e919ea2c2e20797cb7e1d94264d2b5cf9365c1e469be8a25de011f33c7cf51) package.json declares scripts.preinstall = 'node index.js', which runs automatically on npm install. index.js collects host identifiers (os.hostname, os.platform, os.arch, os.homedir, dns.getServers) and POSTs them to gyi3gojp8oae58i48u9uh89neek681wq.oastify.com/hit, a Burp Collaborator out-of-band subdomain. The package self-describes as a dependency-confusion proof of concept; the shipped code is a working install-time exfiltration beacon that reports installation of the name to an attacker-controlled OOB endpoint. Source: ghsa-malware (be2bb2ca91f34ce861258ecf47e6ec3f195ed120be0f09210b60eef8aadfb8a2) Any computer that has this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. All secrets and keys stored on that computer should be rotated immediately from a different computer. The package should be removed, but as full control of the computer may have been given to an outside entity, there is no guarantee that removing the package will remove all malicious software resulting from installing it.
