CVE-2023-54035
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_tables: fix underflow in chain reference counter Set element addition error path decrements reference counter on chains twice: once on element release and again via nft_data_release(). Then, d6b478666ffa ("netfilter: nf_tables: fix underflow in object reference counter") incorrectly fixed this by removing the stateful object reference count decrement. Restore the stateful object decrement as in b91d90368837 ("netfilter: nf_tables: fix leaking object reference count") and let nft_data_release() decrement the chain reference counter, so this is done only once.
CVE-2023-54019
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sched/psi: use kernfs polling functions for PSI trigger polling Destroying psi trigger in cgroup_file_release causes UAF issues when a cgroup is removed from under a polling process. This is happening because cgroup removal causes a call to cgroup_file_release while the actual file is still alive. Destroying the trigger at this point would also destroy its waitqueue head and if there is still a polling process on that file accessing the waitqueue, it will step on the freed pointer: do_select vfs_poll do_rmdir cgroup_rmdir kernfs_drain_open_files cgroup_file_release cgroup_pressure_release psi_trigger_destroy wake_up_pollfree(&t->event_wait) // vfs_poll is unblocked synchronize_rcu kfree(t) poll_freewait -> UAF access to the trigger's waitqueue head Patch [1] fixed this issue for epoll() case using wake_up_pollfree(), however the same issue exists for synchronous poll() case. The root cause of this issue is that the lifecycles of the psi trigger's waitqueue and of the file associated with the trigger are different. Fix this by using kernfs_generic_poll function when polling on cgroup-specific psi triggers. It internally uses kernfs_open_node->poll waitqueue head with its lifecycle tied to the file's lifecycle. This also renders the fix in [1] obsolete, so revert it. [1] commit c2dbe32d5db5 ("sched/psi: Fix use-after-free in ep_remove_wait_queue()")
CVE-2023-54012
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: fix stack overflow when LRO is disabled for virtual interfaces When the virtual interface's feature is updated, it synchronizes the updated feature for its own lower interface. This propagation logic should be worked as the iteration, not recursively. But it works recursively due to the netdev notification unexpectedly. This problem occurs when it disables LRO only for the team and bonding interface type. team0 | +------+------+-----+-----+ | | | | | team1 team2 team3 ... team200 If team0's LRO feature is updated, it generates the NETDEV_FEAT_CHANGE event to its own lower interfaces(team1 ~ team200). It is worked by netdev_sync_lower_features(). So, the NETDEV_FEAT_CHANGE notification logic of each lower interface work iteratively. But generated NETDEV_FEAT_CHANGE event is also sent to the upper interface too. upper interface(team0) generates the NETDEV_FEAT_CHANGE event for its own lower interfaces again. lower and upper interfaces receive this event and generate this event again and again. So, the stack overflow occurs. But it is not the infinite loop issue. Because the netdev_sync_lower_features() updates features before generating the NETDEV_FEAT_CHANGE event. Already synchronized lower interfaces skip notification logic. So, it is just the problem that iteration logic is changed to the recursive unexpectedly due to the notification mechanism. Reproducer: ip link add team0 type team ethtool -K team0 lro on for i in {1..200} do ip link add team$i master team0 type team ethtool -K team$i lro on done ethtool -K team0 lro off In order to fix it, the notifier_ctx member of bonding/team is introduced.
CVE-2023-53997
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thermal: of: fix double-free on unregistration Since commit 3d439b1a2ad3 ("thermal/core: Alloc-copy-free the thermal zone parameters structure"), thermal_zone_device_register() allocates a copy of the tzp argument and frees it when unregistering, so thermal_of_zone_register() now ends up leaking its original tzp and double-freeing the tzp copy. Fix this by locating tzp on stack instead.
CVE-2023-53996
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/sev: Make enc_dec_hypercall() accept a size instead of npages enc_dec_hypercall() accepted a page count instead of a size, which forced its callers to round up. As a result, non-page aligned vaddrs caused pages to be spuriously marked as decrypted via the encryption status hypercall, which in turn caused consistent corruption of pages during live migration. Live migration requires accurate encryption status information to avoid migrating pages from the wrong perspective.

Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-pci: fix mempool alloc size Convert the max size to bytes to match the units of the divisor that calculates the worst-case number of PRP entries. The result is used to determine how many PRP Lists are required. The code was previously rounding this to 1 list, but we can require 2 in the worst case. In that scenario, the driver would corrupt memory beyond the size provided by the mempool. While unlikely to occur (you'd need a 4MB in exactly 127 phys segments on a queue that doesn't support SGLs), this memory corruption has been observed by kfence.

Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5: Fix possible use-after-free in async command interface mlx5_cmd_cleanup_async_ctx should return only after all its callback handlers were completed. Before this patch, the below race between mlx5_cmd_cleanup_async_ctx and mlx5_cmd_exec_cb_handler was possible and lead to a use-after-free: 1. mlx5_cmd_cleanup_async_ctx is called while num_inflight is 2 (i.e. elevated by 1, a single inflight callback). 2. mlx5_cmd_cleanup_async_ctx decreases num_inflight to 1. 3. mlx5_cmd_exec_cb_handler is called, decreases num_inflight to 0 and is about to call wake_up(). 4. mlx5_cmd_cleanup_async_ctx calls wait_event, which returns immediately as the condition (num_inflight == 0) holds. 5. mlx5_cmd_cleanup_async_ctx returns. 6. The caller of mlx5_cmd_cleanup_async_ctx frees the mlx5_async_ctx object. 7. mlx5_cmd_exec_cb_handler goes on and calls wake_up() on the freed object. Fix it by syncing using a completion object. CVE-2022-50700
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath10k: Delay the unmapping of the buffer On WCN3990, we are seeing a rare scenario where copy engine hardware is sending a copy complete interrupt to the host driver while still processing the buffer that the driver has sent, this is leading into an SMMU fault triggering kernel panic. This is happening on copy engine channel 3 (CE3) where the driver normally enqueues WMI commands to the firmware. Upon receiving a copy complete interrupt, host driver will immediately unmap and frees the buffer presuming that hardware has processed the buffer. In the issue case, upon receiving copy complete interrupt, host driver will unmap and free the buffer but since hardware is still accessing the buffer (which in this case got unmapped in parallel), SMMU hardware will trigger an SMMU fault resulting in a kernel panic. In order to avoid this, as a work around, add a delay before unmapping the copy engine source DMA buffer. This is conditionally done for WCN3990 and only for the CE3 channel where issue is seen. CVE-2025-68741
Last Modified: 30 Jul 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: qla2xxx: Fix improper freeing of purex item In qla2xxx_process_purls_iocb(), an item is allocated via qla27xx_copy_multiple_pkt(), which internally calls qla24xx_alloc_purex_item(). The qla24xx_alloc_purex_item() function may return a pre-allocated item from a per-adapter pool for small allocations, instead of dynamically allocating memory with kzalloc(). An error handling path in qla2xxx_process_purls_iocb() incorrectly uses kfree() to release the item. If the item was from the pre-allocated pool, calling kfree() on it is a bug that can lead to memory corruption. Fix this by using the correct deallocation function, qla24xx_free_purex_item(), which properly handles both dynamically allocated and pre-allocated items.

Last Modified: 30 Jul 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: asymmetric_keys - prevent overflow in asymmetric_key_generate_id Use check_add_overflow() to guard against potential integer overflows when adding the binary blob lengths and the size of an asymmetric_key_id structure and return ERR_PTR(-EOVERFLOW) accordingly. This prevents a possible buffer overflow when copying data from potentially malicious X.509 certificate fields that can be arbitrarily large, such as ASN.1 INTEGER serial numbers, issuer names, etc.

CVE-2025-68725
Last Modified: 11 Jun 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Do not let BPF test infra emit invalid GSO types to stack Yinhao et al. reported that their fuzzer tool was able to trigger a skb_warn_bad_offload() from netif_skb_features() -> gso_features_check(). When a BPF program - triggered via BPF test infra - pushes the packet to the loopback device via bpf_clone_redirect() then mentioned offload warning can be seen. GSO-related features are then rightfully disabled. We get into this situation due to convert___skb_to_skb() setting gso_segs and gso_size but not gso_type. Technically, it makes sense that this warning triggers since the GSO properties are malformed due to the gso_type. Potentially, the gso_type could be marked non-trustworthy through setting it at least to SKB_GSO_DODGY without any other specific assumptions, but that also feels wrong given we should not go further into the GSO engine in the first place. The checks were added in 121d57af308d ("gso: validate gso_type in GSO handlers") because there were malicious (syzbot) senders that combine a protocol with a non-matching gso_type. If we would want to drop such packets, gso_features_check() currently only returns feature flags via netif_skb_features(), so one location for potentially dropping such skbs could be validate_xmit_unreadable_skb(), but then otoh it would be an additional check in the fast-path for a very corner case. Given bpf_clone_redirect() is the only place where BPF test infra could emit such packets, lets reject them right there.

Last Modified: 15 Apr 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: j1939: prevent deadlock by moving j1939_sk_errqueue() This commit addresses a deadlock situation that can occur in certain scenarios, such as when running data TP/ETP transfer and subscribing to the error queue while receiving a net down event. The deadlock involves locks in the following order: 3 j1939_session_list_lock -> active_session_list_lock j1939_session_activate ... j1939_sk_queue_activate_next -> sk_session_queue_lock ... j1939_xtp_rx_eoma_one 2 j1939_sk_queue_drop_all -> sk_session_queue_lock ... j1939_sk_netdev_event_netdown -> j1939_socks_lock j1939_netdev_notify 1 j1939_sk_errqueue -> j1939_socks_lock __j1939_session_cancel -> active_session_list_lock j1939_tp_rxtimer CPU0 CPU1 ---- ---- lock(&priv->active_session_list_lock); lock(&jsk->sk_session_queue_lock); lock(&priv->active_session_list_lock); lock(&priv->j1939_socks_lock); The solution implemented in this commit is to move the j1939_sk_errqueue() call out of the active_session_list_lock context, thus preventing the deadlock situation.
CVE-2023-54148
Last Modified: 15 Apr 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5e: Move representor neigh cleanup to profile cleanup_tx For IP tunnel encapsulation in ECMP (Equal-Cost Multipath) mode, as the flow is duplicated to the peer eswitch, the related neighbour information on the peer uplink representor is created as well. In the cited commit, eswitch devcom unpair is moved to uplink unload API, specifically the profile->cleanup_tx. If there is a encap rule offloaded in ECMP mode, when one eswitch does unpair (because of unloading the driver, for instance), and the peer rule from the peer eswitch is going to be deleted, the use-after-free error is triggered while accessing neigh info, as it is already cleaned up in uplink's profile->disable, which is before its profile->cleanup_tx. To fix this issue, move the neigh cleanup to profile's cleanup_tx callback, and after mlx5e_cleanup_uplink_rep_tx is called. The neigh init is moved to init_tx for symmeter. CVE-2023-54143
Last Modified: 15 Apr 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: mediatek: vcodec: fix resource leaks in vdec_msg_queue_init() If we encounter any error in the vdec_msg_queue_init() then we need to set "msg_queue->wdma_addr.size = 0;". Normally, this is done inside the vdec_msg_queue_deinit() function. However, if the first call to allocate &msg_queue->wdma_addr fails, then the vdec_msg_queue_deinit() function is a no-op. For that situation, just set the size to zero explicitly and return. There were two other error paths which did not clean up before returning. Change those error paths to goto mem_alloc_err.

The definition of struct vfio_iommu_type1_info_cap_migration contains a hole as shown in this pahole(1) output: struct vfio_iommu_type1_info_cap_migration { struct vfio_info_cap_header header; /* 0 8 */ __u32 flags; /* 8 4 */ /* XXX 4 bytes hole, try to pack */ __u64 pgsize_bitmap; /* 16 8 */ __u64 max_dirty_bitmap_size; /* 24 8 */ /* size: 32, cachelines: 1, members: 4 */ /* sum members: 28, holes: 1, sum holes: 4 */ /* last cacheline: 32 bytes */ }; The cap_mig variable is filled in without initializing the hole: static int vfio_iommu_migration_build_caps(struct vfio_iommu *iommu, struct vfio_info_cap *caps) { struct vfio_iommu_type1_info_cap_migration cap_mig; cap_mig.header.id = VFIO_IOMMU_TYPE1_INFO_CAP_MIGRATION; cap_mig.header.version = 1; cap_mig.flags = 0; /* support minimum pgsize */ cap_mig.pgsize_bitmap = (size_t)1 << __ffs(iommu->pgsize_bitmap); cap_mig.max_dirty_bitmap_size = DIRTY_BITMAP_SIZE_MAX; return vfio_info_add_capability(caps, &cap_mig.header, sizeof(cap_mig)); } The structure is then copied to a temporary location on the heap. At this point it's already too late and ioctl(VFIO_IOMMU_GET_INFO) copies it to userspace later: int vfio_info_add_capability(struct vfio_info_cap *caps, struct vfio_info_cap_header *cap, size_t size) { struct vfio_info_cap_header *header; header = vfio_info_cap_add(caps, size, cap->id, cap->version); if (IS_ERR(header)) return PTR_ERR(header); memcpy(header + 1, cap + 1, size - sizeof(*header)); return 0; } This issue was found by code inspection.

Last Modified: 15 Apr 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfp: clean mc addresses in application firmware when closing port When moving devices from one namespace to another, mc addresses are cleaned in software while not removed from application firmware. Thus the mc addresses are remained and will cause resource leak. Now use `__dev_mc_unsync` to clean mc addresses when closing port.

Last Modified: 15 Apr 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial: sc16is7xx: setup GPIO controller later in probe The GPIO controller component of the sc16is7xx driver is setup too early, which can result in a race condition where another device tries to utilise the GPIO lines before the sc16is7xx device has finished initialising. This issue manifests itself as an Oops when the GPIO lines are configured: Unable to handle kernel read from unreadable memory at virtual address ... pc : sc16is7xx_gpio_direction_output+0x68/0x108 [sc16is7xx] lr : sc16is7xx_gpio_direction_output+0x4c/0x108 [sc16is7xx] ... If some bytes are copied, an error occurred, and jumped to out_error label, 'last_skb' is left unmodified. A later kcm_sendmsg() will use an obsoleted 'last_skb' reference, corrupting the 'head' frag_list and causing the leak. This patch fixes this issue by properly updating the last allocated skb in 'last_skb'.

Last Modified: 15 Apr 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: lpfc: Prevent lpfc_debugfs_lockstat_write() buffer overflow A static code analysis tool flagged the possibility of buffer overflow when using copy_from_user() for a debugfs entry. CVE-2023-54081
Last Modified: 15 Apr 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xen: speed up grant-table reclaim When a grant entry is still in use by the remote domain, Linux must put it on a deferred list. Normally, this list is very short, because the PV network and block protocols expect the backend to unmap the grant first. However, Qubes OS's GUI protocol is subject to the constraints of the X Window System, and as such winds up with the frontend unmapping the window first. As a result, the list can grow very large, resulting in a massive memory leak and eventual VM freeze. To partially solve this problem, make the number of entries that the VM will attempt to free at each iteration tunable. The default is still 10, but it can be overridden via a module parameter. This is Cc: stable because (when combined with appropriate userspace changes) it fixes a severe performance and stability problem for Qubes OS users.
CVE-2023-54079
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: power: supply: bq27xxx: Fix poll_interval handling and races on remove Before this patch bq27xxx_battery_teardown() was setting poll_interval = 0 to avoid bq27xxx_battery_update() requeuing the delayed_work item. There are 2 problems with this: 1. If the driver is unbound through sysfs, rather then the module being rmmod-ed, this changes poll_interval unexpectedly 2. This is racy, after it being set poll_interval could be changed before bq27xxx_battery_update() checks it through /sys/module/bq27xxx_battery/parameters/poll_interval Fix this by added a removed attribute to struct bq27xxx_device_info and using that instead of setting poll_interval to 0. There also is another poll_interval related race on remove(), writing /sys/module/bq27xxx_battery/parameters/poll_interval will requeue the delayed_work item for all devices on the bq27xxx_battery_devices list and the device being removed was only removed from that list after cancelling the delayed_work item. Fix this by moving the removal from the bq27xxx_battery_devices list to before cancelling the delayed_work item.

This can result in all sorts of weird failures caused by a race, such as the following crash: [337571.278245] general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address 0xdead000000000108: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP PTI [337571.278933] CPU: 1 PID: 115447 Comm: btrfs Tainted: G W 6.4.0-rc6-btrfs-next-134+ #1 [337571.279153] Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS rel-1.14.0-0-g155821a1990b-prebuilt.qemu.org 04/01/2014 [337571.279572] RIP: 0010:commit_cowonly_roots+0x11f/0x250 [btrfs] [337571.279928] Code: 85 38 06 00 (...) Last Modified: 15 Apr 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: fix BUG in ext4_mb_new_inode_pa() due to overflow When we calculate the end position of ext4_free_extent, this position may be exactly where ext4_lblk_t (i.e. uint) overflows. For example, if ac_g_ex.fe_logical is 4294965248 and ac_orig_goal_len is 2048, then the computed end is 0x100000000, which is 0. If ac->ac_o_ex.fe_logical is not the first case of adjusting the best extent, that is, new_bex_end > 0, the following BUG_ON will be triggered: ========================================================= kernel BUG at fs/ext4/mballoc.c:5116! invalid opcode: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP PTI CPU: 3 PID: 673 Comm: xfs_io Tainted: G E 6.5.0-rc1+ #279 RIP: 0010:ext4_mb_new_inode_pa+0xc5/0x430 Call Trace: <TASK> ext4_mb_use_best_found+0x203/0x2f0 ext4_mb_try_best_found+0x163/0x240 ext4_mb_regular_allocator+0x158/0x1550 ext4_mb_new_blocks+0x86a/0xe10 ext4_ext_map_blocks+0xb0c/0x13a0 ext4_map_blocks+0x2cd/0x8f0 ext4_iomap_begin+0x27b/0x400 iomap_iter+0x222/0x3d0 __iomap_dio_rw+0x243/0xcb0 iomap_dio_rw+0x16/0x80 ========================================================= A simple reproducer demonstrating the problem: mkfs.ext4 -F /dev/sda -b 4096 100M mount /dev/sda /tmp/test fallocate -l1M /tmp/test/tmp fallocate -l10M /tmp/test/file fallocate -i -o 1M -l16777203M /tmp/test/file fsstress -d /tmp/test -l 0 -n 100000 -p 8 & sleep 10 && killall -9 fsstress rm -f /tmp/test/tmp xfs_io -c "open -ad /tmp/test/file" -c "pwrite -S 0xff 0 8192" We simply refactor the logic for adjusting the best extent by adding a temporary ext4_free_extent ex and use extent_logical_end() to avoid overflow, which also simplifies the code.
