CVE-2024-46681
Last Modified: 4 May 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pktgen: use cpus_read_lock() in pg_net_init() I have seen the WARN_ON(smp_processor_id() != cpu) firing in pktgen_thread_worker() during tests. We must use cpus_read_lock()/cpus_read_unlock() around the for_each_online_cpu(cpu) loop. While we are at it use WARN_ON_ONCE() to avoid a possible syslog flood.

CVE-2024-46684
Last Modified: 4 May 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: binfmt_elf_fdpic: fix AUXV size calculation when ELF_HWCAP2 is defined create_elf_fdpic_tables() does not correctly account the space for the AUX vector when an architecture has ELF_HWCAP2 defined. Prior to the commit 10e29251be0e ("binfmt_elf_fdpic: fix /proc/<pid>/auxv") it resulted in the last entry of the AUX vector being set to zero, but with that change it results in a kernel BUG. Fix that by adding one to the number of AUXV entries (nitems) when ELF_HWCAP2 is defined.

The call trace is the regular endio workqueue context, but the free-by-task trace is showing that during btrfs_submit_chunk() we already hit a critical error, and is calling btrfs_bio_end_io() to error out. And the original endio function called bio_put() to free the whole bio. This means a double freeing thus causing use-after-free, e.g.: 1. Enter btrfs_submit_bio() with a read bio The read bio length is 128K, crossing two 64K stripes. 2. The first run of btrfs_submit_chunk() 2.1 Call btrfs_map_block(), which returns 64K 2.2 Call btrfs_split_bio() Now there are two bios, one referring to the first 64K, the other referring to the second 64K. 2.3 The first half is submitted. 3. The second run of btrfs_submit_chunk() 3.1 Call btrfs_map_block(), which by somehow failed Now we call btrfs_bio_end_io() to handle the error 3.2 btrfs_bio_end_io() calls the original endio function Which is end_bbio_data_read(), and it calls bio_put() for the original bio. Now the original bio is freed. 4. The submitted first 64K bio finished Now we call into btrfs_check_read_bio() and tries to advance the bio iter. But since the original bio (thus its iter) is already freed, we trigger the above use-after free. And even if the memory is not poisoned/corrupted, we will later call the original endio function, causing a double freeing. [FIX] Instead of calling btrfs_bio_end_io(), call btrfs_orig_bbio_end_io(), which has the extra check on split bios and do the pr ---truncated---
CVE-2024-46690
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: fix nfsd4_deleg_getattr_conflict in presence of third party lease It is not safe to dereference fl->c.flc_owner without first confirming fl->fl_lmops is the expected manager. nfsd4_deleg_getattr_conflict() tests fl_lmops but largely ignores the result and assumes that flc_owner is an nfs4_delegation anyway. This is wrong. With this patch we restore the "!= &nfsd_lease_mng_ops" case to behave as it did before the change mentioned below. This is the same as the current code, but without any reference to a possible delegation.
CVE-2024-46692
Last Modified: 4 May 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: firmware: qcom: scm: Mark get_wq_ctx() as atomic call Currently get_wq_ctx() is wrongly configured as a standard call. When two SMC calls are in sleep and one SMC wakes up, it calls get_wq_ctx() to resume the corresponding sleeping thread. But if get_wq_ctx() is interrupted, goes to sleep and another SMC call is waiting to be allocated a waitq context, it leads to a deadlock. To avoid this get_wq_ctx() must be an atomic call and can't be a standard SMC call. Hence mark get_wq_ctx() as a fast call.
CVE-2024-46691
Last Modified: 25 Mar 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: typec: ucsi: Move unregister out of atomic section Commit '9329933699b3 ("soc: qcom: pmic_glink: Make client-lock non-sleeping")' moved the pmic_glink client list under a spinlock, as it is accessed by the rpmsg/glink callback, which in turn is invoked from IRQ context. This means that ucsi_unregister() is now called from atomic context, which isn't feasible as it's expecting a sleepable context. An effort is under way to get GLINK to invoke its callbacks in a sleepable context, but until then lets schedule the unregistration. A side effect of this is that ucsi_unregister() can now happen after the remote processor, and thereby the communication link with it, is gone. pmic_glink_send() is amended with a check to avoid the resulting NULL pointer dereference. This does however result in the user being informed about this error by the following entry in the kernel log: ucsi_glink.pmic_glink_ucsi pmic_glink.ucsi.0: failed to send UCSI write request: -5

CVE-2024-46701
Last Modified: 4 May 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libfs: fix infinite directory reads for offset dir After we switch tmpfs dir operations from simple_dir_operations to simple_offset_dir_operations, every rename happened will fill new dentry to dest dir's maple tree(&SHMEM_I(inode)->dir_offsets->mt) with a free key starting with octx->newx_offset, and then set newx_offset equals to free key + 1. This will lead to infinite readdir combine with rename happened at the same time, which fail generic/736 in xfstests(detail show as below). 1. create 5000 files(1 2 3...) under one dir 2. call readdir(man 3 readdir) once, and get one entry 3. rename(entry, "TEMPFILE"), then rename("TEMPFILE", entry) 4. loop 2~3, until readdir return nothing or we loop too many times(tmpfs break test with the second condition) We choose the same logic what commit 9b378f6ad48cf ("btrfs: fix infinite directory reads") to fix it, record the last_index when we open dir, and do not emit the entry which index >= last_index. The file->private_data now used in offset dir can use directly to do this, and we also update the last_index when we llseek the dir file. [brauner: only update last_index after seek when offset is zero like Jan suggested]

CVE-2024-46706
Last Modified: 4 May 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tty: serial: fsl_lpuart: mark last busy before uart_add_one_port With "earlycon initcall_debug=1 loglevel=8" in bootargs, kernel sometimes boot hang. It is because normal console still is not ready, but runtime suspend is called, so early console putchar will hang in waiting TRDE set in UARTSTAT. The lpuart driver has auto suspend delay set to 3000ms, but during uart_add_one_port, a child device serial ctrl will added and probed with its pm runtime enabled(see serial_ctrl.c). The runtime suspend call path is: device_add |-> bus_probe_device |->device_initial_probe |->__device_attach |-> pm_runtime_get_sync(dev->parent); |-> pm_request_idle(dev); |-> pm_runtime_put(dev->parent); So in the end, before normal console ready, the lpuart get runtime suspended. And earlycon putchar will hang. To address the issue, mark last busy just after pm_runtime_enable, three seconds is long enough to switch from bootconsole to normal console.
CVE-2024-46705
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: reset mmio mappings with devm Set our various mmio mappings to NULL. This should make it easier to catch something rogue trying to mess with mmio after device removal. For example, we might unmap everything and then start hitting some mmio address which has already been unmamped by us and then remapped by something else, causing all kinds of carnage.

Last Modified: 4 May 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pinctrl: qcom: x1e80100: Fix special pin offsets Remove the erroneus 0x100000 offset to prevent the boards from crashing on pin state setting, as well as for the intended state changes to take effect.
CVE-2024-46710
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vmwgfx: Prevent unmapping active read buffers The kms paths keep a persistent map active to read and compare the cursor buffer. These maps can race with each other in simple scenario where: a) buffer "a" mapped for update b) buffer "a" mapped for compare c) do the compare d) unmap "a" for compare e) update the cursor f) unmap "a" for update At step "e" the buffer has been unmapped and the read contents is bogus. Prevent unmapping of active read buffers by simply keeping a count of how many paths have currently active maps and unmap only when the count reaches 0.
