Last Modified: 23 Jul 2025A vulnerability in the `_backup_run` function in aimhubio/aim version 3.19.3 allows remote attackers to overwrite any file on the host server and exfiltrate arbitrary data. The vulnerability arises due to improper handling of the `run_hash` and `repo.path` parameters, which can be manipulated to create and write to arbitrary file paths. This can lead to denial of service by overwriting critical system files, loss of private data, and potential remote code execution.

CVE-2024-40992
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/rxe: Fix responder length checking for UD request packets According to the IBA specification: If a UD request packet is detected with an invalid length, the request shall be an invalid request and it shall be silently dropped by the responder. The responder then waits for a new request packet. commit 689c5421bfe0 ("RDMA/rxe: Fix incorrect responder length checking") defers responder length check for UD QPs in function `copy_data`. But it introduces a regression issue for UD QPs. When the packet size is too large to fit in the receive buffer. `copy_data` will return error code -EINVAL. Then `send_data_in` will return RESPST_ERR_MALFORMED_WQE. UD QP will transfer into ERROR state.

If suspend is triggered, firmware will be reloaded during resume. As same as before, firmware requests two large segments at first. In ath12k_qmi_msg_mem_request_cb() segment count and size are assigned: ab->qmi.mem_seg_count == 2 ab->qmi.target_mem[0].size == 7077888 ab->qmi.target_mem[1].size == 8454144 Then allocation failed like before and ath12k_qmi_free_target_mem_chunk() is called to free all allocated segments. Note the first segment is skipped because its v.addr is cleared due to allocation failure: chunk->v.addr = dma_alloc_coherent() Also note that this leaks that segment because it has not been freed. While freeing the second segment, a size of 8454144 is passed to dma_free_coherent(). However remember that this segment is allocated at the first time firmware is loaded, before suspend. So its real size is 524288, much smaller than 8454144. As a result kernel found we are freeing some memory which is in use and thus cras ---truncated---

CVE-2024-40970
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Avoid hw_desc array overrun in dw-axi-dmac I have a use case where nr_buffers = 3 and in which each descriptor is composed by 3 segments, resulting in the DMA channel descs_allocated to be 9. Since axi_desc_put() handles the hw_desc considering the descs_allocated, this scenario would result in a kernel panic (hw_desc array will be overrun). To fix this, the proposal is to add a new member to the axi_dma_desc structure, where we keep the number of allocated hw_descs (axi_desc_alloc()) and use it in axi_desc_put() to handle the hw_desc array correctly. Additionally I propose to remove the axi_chan_start_first_queued() call after completing the transfer, since it was identified that unbalance can occur (started descriptors can be interrupted and transfer ignored due to DMA channel not being enabled).

This implies a possible sleep and violates limitations of RCU read-side critical sections on non-PREEMPT systems. Sleeping within RCU read-side critical section might cause synchronize_rcu() returning early and break RCU protection, allowing a UAF to happen. The root cause of this issue could be described as follows: | Thread A | Thread B | | |ima_match_policy | | | rcu_read_lock | |ima_lsm_update_rule | | | synchronize_rcu | | | | kmalloc(GFP_KERNEL)| | | sleep | ==> synchronize_rcu returns early | kfree(entry) | | | | entry = entry->next| ==> UAF happens and entry now becomes NULL (or could be anything). | | entry->action | ==> Accessing entry might cause panic. To fix this issue, we are converting all kmalloc that is called within RCU read-side critical section to use GFP_ATOMIC. [PM: fixed missing comment, long lines, !CONFIG_IMA_LSM_RULES case]

Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: don't read past the mfuart notifcation In case the firmware sends a notification that claims it has more data than it has, we will read past that was allocated for the notification. Remove the print of the buffer, we won't see it by default. If needed, we can see the content with tracing. This was reported by KFENCE.

Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: check n_ssids before accessing the ssids In some versions of cfg80211, the ssids poinet might be a valid one even though n_ssids is 0. Accessing the pointer in this case will cuase an out-of-bound access. Fix this by checking n_ssids first.
CVE-2024-40925
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block: fix request.queuelist usage in flush Friedrich Weber reported a kernel crash problem and bisected to commit 81ada09cc25e ("blk-flush: reuse rq queuelist in flush state machine"). The root cause is that we use "list_move_tail(&rq->queuelist, pending)" in the PREFLUSH/POSTFLUSH sequences. But rq->queuelist.next == xxx since it's popped out from plug->cached_rq in __blk_mq_alloc_requests_batch(). We don't initialize its queuelist just for this first request, although the queuelist of all later popped requests will be initialized. Fix it by changing to use "list_add_tail(&rq->queuelist, pending)" so rq->queuelist doesn't need to be initialized. It should be ok since rq can't be on any list when PREFLUSH or POSTFLUSH, has no move actually. Please note the commit 81ada09cc25e ("blk-flush: reuse rq queuelist in flush state machine") also has another requirement that no drivers would touch rq->queuelist after blk_mq_end_request() since we will reuse it to add rq to the post-flush pending list in POSTFLUSH. If this is not true, we will have to revert that commit IMHO. This updated version adds "list_del_init(&rq->queuelist)" in flush rq callback since the dm layer may submit request of a weird invalid format (REQ_FSEQ_PREFLUSH | REQ_FSEQ_POSTFLUSH), which causes double list_add if without this "list_del_init(&rq->queuelist)". The weird invalid format problem should be fixed in dm layer.
