CVE-2024-27414
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rtnetlink: fix error logic of IFLA_BRIDGE_FLAGS writing back In the commit d73ef2d69c0d ("rtnetlink: let rtnl_bridge_setlink checks IFLA_BRIDGE_MODE length"), an adjustment was made to the old loop logic in the function `rtnl_bridge_setlink` to enable the loop to also check the length of the IFLA_BRIDGE_MODE attribute. However, this adjustment removed the `break` statement and led to an error logic of the flags writing back at the end of this function. if (have_flags) memcpy(nla_data(attr), &flags, sizeof(flags)); // attr should point to IFLA_BRIDGE_FLAGS NLA !!! Before the mentioned commit, the `attr` is granted to be IFLA_BRIDGE_FLAGS. However, this is not necessarily true fow now as the updated loop will let the attr point to the last NLA, even an invalid NLA which could cause overflow writes. This patch introduces a new variable `br_flag` to save the NLA pointer that points to IFLA_BRIDGE_FLAGS and uses it to resolve the mentioned error logic.
CVE-2024-27410
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: nl80211: reject iftype change with mesh ID change It's currently possible to change the mesh ID when the interface isn't yet in mesh mode, at the same time as changing it into mesh mode. This leads to an overwrite of data in the wdev->u union for the interface type it currently has, causing cfg80211_change_iface() to do wrong things when switching. We could probably allow setting an interface to mesh while setting the mesh ID at the same time by doing a different order of operations here, but realistically there's no userspace that's going to do this, so just disallow changes in iftype when setting mesh ID.

CVE-2024-35807
Last Modified: 12 May 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: fix corruption during on-line resize We observed a corruption during on-line resize of a file system that is larger than 16 TiB with 4k block size. With having more then 2^32 blocks resize_inode is turned off by default by mke2fs. The issue can be reproduced on a smaller file system for convenience by explicitly turning off resize_inode. An on-line resize across an 8 GiB boundary (the size of a meta block group in this setup) then leads to a corruption: dev=/dev/<some_dev> # should be >= 16 GiB mkdir -p /corruption /sbin/mke2fs -t ext4 -b 4096 -O ^resize_inode $dev $((2 * 2**21 - 2**15)) mount -t ext4 $dev /corruption dd if=/dev/zero bs=4096 of=/corruption/test count=$((2*2**21 - 4*2**15)) sha1sum /corruption/test # 79d2658b39dcfd77274e435b0934028adafaab11 /corruption/test /sbin/resize2fs $dev $((2*2**21)) # drop page cache to force reload the block from disk echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches sha1sum /corruption/test # 3c2abc63cbf1a94c9e6977e0fbd72cd832c4d5c3 /corruption/test 2^21 = 2^15*2^6 equals 8 GiB whereof 2^15 is the number of blocks per block group and 2^6 are the number of block groups that make a meta block group. The last checksum might be different depending on how the file is laid out across the physical blocks. The actual corruption occurs at physical block 63*2^15 = 2064384 which would be the location of the backup of the meta block group's block descriptor. During the on-line resize the file system will be converted to meta_bg starting at s_first_meta_bg which is 2 in the example - meaning all block groups after 16 GiB. However, in ext4_flex_group_add we might add block groups that are not part of the first meta block group yet. In the reproducer we achieved this by substracting the size of a whole block group from the point where the meta block group would start. This must be considered when updating the backup block group descriptors to follow the non-meta_bg layout. The fix is to add a test whether the group to add is already part of the meta block group or not.

CVE-2024-35843
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/vt-d: Use device rbtree in iopf reporting path The existing I/O page fault handler currently locates the PCI device by calling pci_get_domain_bus_and_slot(). This function searches the list of all PCI devices until the desired device is found. To improve lookup efficiency, replace it with device_rbtree_find() to search the device within the probed device rbtree. The I/O page fault is initiated by the device, which does not have any synchronization mechanism with the software to ensure that the device stays in the probed device tree. Theoretically, a device could be released by the IOMMU subsystem after device_rbtree_find() and before iopf_get_dev_fault_param(), which would cause a use-after-free problem. Add a mutex to synchronize the I/O page fault reporting path and the IOMMU release device path. This lock doesn't introduce any performance overhead, as the conflict between I/O page fault reporting and device releasing is very rare.
CVE-2024-35803
Last Modified: 5 Jan 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/efistub: Call mixed mode boot services on the firmware's stack Normally, the EFI stub calls into the EFI boot services using the stack that was live when the stub was entered. According to the UEFI spec, this stack needs to be at least 128k in size - this might seem large but all asynchronous processing and event handling in EFI runs from the same stack and so quite a lot of space may be used in practice. In mixed mode, the situation is a bit different: the bootloader calls the 32-bit EFI stub entry point, which calls the decompressor's 32-bit entry point, where the boot stack is set up, using a fixed allocation of 16k. This stack is still in use when the EFI stub is started in 64-bit mode, and so all calls back into the EFI firmware will be using the decompressor's limited boot stack. Due to the placement of the boot stack right after the boot heap, any stack overruns have gone unnoticed. However, commit 5c4feadb0011983b ("x86/decompressor: Move global symbol references to C code") moved the definition of the boot heap into C code, and now the boot stack is placed right at the base of BSS, where any overruns will corrupt the end of the .data section. While it would be possible to work around this by increasing the size of the boot stack, doing so would affect all x86 systems, and mixed mode systems are a tiny (and shrinking) fraction of the x86 installed base. So instead, record the firmware stack pointer value when entering from the 32-bit firmware, and switch to this stack every time a EFI boot service call is made.
CVE-2024-35784
Last Modified: 5 Jan 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: fix deadlock with fiemap and extent locking While working on the patchset to remove extent locking I got a lockdep splat with fiemap and pagefaulting with my new extent lock replacement lock. This deadlock exists with our normal code, we just don't have lockdep annotations with the extent locking so we've never noticed it. Since we're copying the fiemap extent to user space on every iteration we have the chance of pagefaulting. Because we hold the extent lock for the entire range we could mkwrite into a range in the file that we have mmap'ed. This would deadlock with the following stack trace [<0>] lock_extent+0x28d/0x2f0 [<0>] btrfs_page_mkwrite+0x273/0x8a0 [<0>] do_page_mkwrite+0x50/0xb0 [<0>] do_fault+0xc1/0x7b0 [<0>] __handle_mm_fault+0x2fa/0x460 [<0>] handle_mm_fault+0xa4/0x330 [<0>] do_user_addr_fault+0x1f4/0x800 [<0>] exc_page_fault+0x7c/0x1e0 [<0>] asm_exc_page_fault+0x26/0x30 [<0>] rep_movs_alternative+0x33/0x70 [<0>] _copy_to_user+0x49/0x70 [<0>] fiemap_fill_next_extent+0xc8/0x120 [<0>] emit_fiemap_extent+0x4d/0xa0 [<0>] extent_fiemap+0x7f8/0xad0 [<0>] btrfs_fiemap+0x49/0x80 [<0>] __x64_sys_ioctl+0x3e1/0xb50 [<0>] do_syscall_64+0x94/0x1a0 [<0>] entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x6e/0x76 I wrote an fstest to reproduce this deadlock without my replacement lock and verified that the deadlock exists with our existing locking. To fix this simply don't take the extent lock for the entire duration of the fiemap. This is safe in general because we keep track of where we are when we're searching the tree, so if an ordered extent updates in the middle of our fiemap call we'll still emit the correct extents because we know what offset we were on before. The only place we maintain the lock is searching delalloc. Since the delalloc stuff can change during writeback we want to lock the extent range so we have a consistent view of delalloc at the time we're checking to see if we need to set the delalloc flag. With this patch applied we no longer deadlock with my testcase.

CVE-2024-35825
Last Modified: 11 May 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: gadget: ncm: Fix handling of zero block length packets While connecting to a Linux host with CDC_NCM_NTB_DEF_SIZE_TX set to 65536, it has been observed that we receive short packets, which come at interval of 5-10 seconds sometimes and have block length zero but still contain 1-2 valid datagrams present. According to the NCM spec: "If wBlockLength = 0x0000, the block is terminated by a short packet. In this case, the USB transfer must still be shorter than dwNtbInMaxSize or dwNtbOutMaxSize. If exactly dwNtbInMaxSize or dwNtbOutMaxSize bytes are sent, and the size is a multiple of wMaxPacketSize for the given pipe, then no ZLP shall be sent. wBlockLength= 0x0000 must be used with extreme care, because of the possibility that the host and device may get out of sync, and because of test issues. wBlockLength = 0x0000 allows the sender to reduce latency by starting to send a very large NTB, and then shortening it when the sender discovers that there’s not sufficient data to justify sending a large NTB" However, there is a potential issue with the current implementation, as it checks for the occurrence of multiple NTBs in a single giveback by verifying if the leftover bytes to be processed is zero or not. If the block length reads zero, we would process the same NTB infintely because the leftover bytes is never zero and it leads to a crash. Fix this by bailing out if block length reads zero.

CVE-2024-35824
Last Modified: 26 Sept 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: misc: lis3lv02d_i2c: Fix regulators getting en-/dis-abled twice on suspend/resume When not configured for wakeup lis3lv02d_i2c_suspend() will call lis3lv02d_poweroff() even if the device has already been turned off by the runtime-suspend handler and if configured for wakeup and the device is runtime-suspended at this point then it is not turned back on to serve as a wakeup source. Before commit b1b9f7a49440 ("misc: lis3lv02d_i2c: Add missing setting of the reg_ctrl callback"), lis3lv02d_poweroff() failed to disable the regulators which as a side effect made calling poweroff() twice ok. Now that poweroff() correctly disables the regulators, doing this twice triggers a WARN() in the regulator core: unbalanced disables for regulator-dummy WARNING: CPU: 1 PID: 92 at drivers/regulator/core.c:2999 _regulator_disable ... Fix lis3lv02d_i2c_suspend() to not call poweroff() a second time if already runtime-suspended and add a poweron() call when necessary to make wakeup work. lis3lv02d_i2c_resume() has similar issues, with an added weirness that it always powers on the device if it is runtime suspended, after which the first runtime-resume will call poweron() again, causing the enabled count for the regulator to increase by 1 every suspend/resume. These unbalanced regulator_enable() calls cause the regulator to never be turned off and trigger the following WARN() on driver unbind: WARNING: CPU: 1 PID: 1724 at drivers/regulator/core.c:2396 _regulator_put Fix this by making lis3lv02d_i2c_resume() mirror the new suspend().

Last Modified: 4 May 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: fsl-qdma: Fix a memory leak related to the queue command DMA This dma_alloc_coherent() is undone neither in the remove function, nor in the error handling path of fsl_qdma_probe(). Switch to the managed version to fix both issues.
CVE-2024-35836
Last Modified: 19 Sept 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dpll: fix pin dump crash for rebound module When a kernel module is unbound but the pin resources were not entirely freed (other kernel module instance of the same PCI device have had kept the reference to that pin), and kernel module is again bound, the pin properties would not be updated (the properties are only assigned when memory for the pin is allocated), prop pointer still points to the kernel module memory of the kernel module which was deallocated on the unbind. If the pin dump is invoked in this state, the result is a kernel crash. Prevent the crash by storing persistent pin properties in dpll subsystem, copy the content from the kernel module when pin is allocated, instead of using memory of the kernel module.

Last Modified: 4 May 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: qca: fix NULL-deref on non-serdev suspend Qualcomm ROME controllers can be registered from the Bluetooth line discipline and in this case the HCI UART serdev pointer is NULL. Add the missing sanity check to prevent a NULL-pointer dereference when wakeup() is called for a non-serdev controller during suspend. Just return true for now to restore the original behaviour and address the crash with pre-6.2 kernels, which do not have commit e9b3e5b8c657 ("Bluetooth: hci_qca: only assign wakeup with serial port support") that causes the crash to happen already at setup() time.
CVE-2024-27411
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/nouveau: keep DMA buffers required for suspend/resume Nouveau deallocates a few buffers post GPU init which are required for GPU suspend/resume to function correctly. This is likely not as big an issue on systems where the NVGPU is the only GPU, but on multi-GPU set ups it leads to a regression where the kernel module errors and results in a system-wide rendering freeze. This commit addresses that regression by moving the two buffers required for suspend and resume to be deallocated at driver unload instead of post init.
CVE-2024-27406
Last Modified: 18 Sept 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: lib/Kconfig.debug: TEST_IOV_ITER depends on MMU Trying to run the iov_iter unit test on a nommu system such as the qemu kc705-nommu emulation results in a crash. KTAP version 1 # Subtest: iov_iter # module: kunit_iov_iter 1..9 BUG: failure at mm/nommu.c:318/vmap()! Kernel panic - not syncing: BUG! The test calls vmap() directly, but vmap() is not supported on nommu systems, causing the crash. TEST_IOV_ITER therefore needs to depend on MMU.
CVE-2024-27434
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: don't set the MFP flag for the GTK The firmware doesn't need the MFP flag for the GTK, it can even make the firmware crash. in case the AP is configured with: group cipher TKIP and MFPC. We would send the GTK with cipher = TKIP and MFP which is of course not possible.
CVE-2024-35786
Last Modified: 4 May 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/nouveau: fix stale locked mutex in nouveau_gem_ioctl_pushbuf If VM_BIND is enabled on the client the legacy submission ioctl can't be used, however if a client tries to do so regardless it will return an error. In this case the clients mutex remained unlocked leading to a deadlock inside nouveau_drm_postclose or any other nouveau ioctl call.
CVE-2024-35791
Last Modified: 23 Dec 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: SVM: Flush pages under kvm->lock to fix UAF in svm_register_enc_region() Do the cache flush of converted pages in svm_register_enc_region() before dropping kvm->lock to fix use-after-free issues where region and/or its array of pages could be freed by a different task, e.g. if userspace has __unregister_enc_region_locked() already queued up for the region. Note, the "obvious" alternative of using local variables doesn't fully resolve the bug, as region->pages is also dynamically allocated. I.e. the region structure itself would be fine, but region->pages could be freed. Flushing multiple pages under kvm->lock is unfortunate, but the entire flow is a rare slow path, and the manual flush is only needed on CPUs that lack coherency for encrypted memory.
CVE-2024-35808
Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: md/dm-raid: don't call md_reap_sync_thread() directly Currently md_reap_sync_thread() is called from raid_message() directly without holding 'reconfig_mutex', this is definitely unsafe because md_reap_sync_thread() can change many fields that is protected by 'reconfig_mutex'. However, hold 'reconfig_mutex' here is still problematic because this will cause deadlock, for example, commit 130443d60b1b ("md: refactor idle/frozen_sync_thread() to fix deadlock"). Fix this problem by using stop_sync_thread() to unregister sync_thread, like md/raid did.
CVE-2024-35809
Last Modified: 5 Jan 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PCI/PM: Drain runtime-idle callbacks before driver removal A race condition between the .runtime_idle() callback and the .remove() callback in the rtsx_pcr PCI driver leads to a kernel crash due to an unhandled page fault [1]. The problem is that rtsx_pci_runtime_idle() is not expected to be running after pm_runtime_get_sync() has been called, but the latter doesn't really guarantee that. It only guarantees that the suspend and resume callbacks will not be running when it returns. However, if a .runtime_idle() callback is already running when pm_runtime_get_sync() is called, the latter will notice that the runtime PM status of the device is RPM_ACTIVE and it will return right away without waiting for the former to complete. In fact, it cannot wait for .runtime_idle() to complete because it may be called from that callback (it arguably does not make much sense to do that, but it is not strictly prohibited). Thus in general, whoever is providing a .runtime_idle() callback needs to protect it from running in parallel with whatever code runs after pm_runtime_get_sync(). [Note that .runtime_idle() will not start after pm_runtime_get_sync() has returned, but it may continue running then if it has started earlier.] One way to address that race condition is to call pm_runtime_barrier() after pm_runtime_get_sync() (not before it, because a nonzero value of the runtime PM usage counter is necessary to prevent runtime PM callbacks from being invoked) to wait for the .runtime_idle() callback to complete should it be running at that point. A suitable place for doing that is in pci_device_remove() which calls pm_runtime_get_sync() before removing the driver, so it may as well call pm_runtime_barrier() subsequently, which will prevent the race in question from occurring, not just in the rtsx_pcr driver, but in any PCI drivers providing .runtime_idle() callbacks.
