CVE-2024-27069
Last Modified: 18 Sept 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ovl: relax WARN_ON in ovl_verify_area() syzbot hit an assertion in copy up data loop which looks like it is the result of a lower file whose size is being changed underneath overlayfs. This type of use case is documented to cause undefined behavior, so returning EIO error for the copy up makes sense, but it should not be causing a WARN_ON assertion.
CVE-2024-27067
Last Modified: 18 Sept 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xen/evtchn: avoid WARN() when unbinding an event channel When unbinding a user event channel, the related handler might be called a last time in case the kernel was built with CONFIG_DEBUG_SHIRQ. This might cause a WARN() in the handler. Avoid that by adding an "unbinding" flag to struct user_event which will short circuit the handler.

Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: qat - resolve race condition during AER recovery During the PCI AER system's error recovery process, the kernel driver may encounter a race condition with freeing the reset_data structure's memory. If the device restart will take more than 10 seconds the function scheduling that restart will exit due to a timeout, and the reset_data structure will be freed. However, this data structure is used for completion notification after the restart is completed, which leads to a UAF bug. This results in a KFENCE bug notice. BUG: KFENCE: use-after-free read in adf_device_reset_worker+0x38/0xa0 [intel_qat] Use-after-free read at 0x00000000bc56fddf (in kfence-#142): adf_device_reset_worker+0x38/0xa0 [intel_qat] process_one_work+0x173/0x340 To resolve this race condition, the memory associated to the container of the work_struct is freed on the worker if the timeout expired, otherwise on the function that schedules the worker. The timeout detection can be done by checking if the caller is still waiting for completion or not by using completion_done() function.

We could prevent from that race by serializing i915_active_fini() with __active_retire() via ref->tree_lock, but that wouldn't stop the VMA from being used, e.g. from __i915_vma_retire() called at the end of __active_retire(), after that VMA has been already freed by a concurrent i915_vma_destroy() on return from the i915_active_fini(). Then, we should rather fix the issue at the VMA level, not in i915_active. Since __i915_vma_parked() is called from __gt_park() on last put of the GT's wakeref, the issue could be addressed by holding the GT wakeref long enough for __active_retire() to complete before that wakeref is released and the GT parked. I believe the issue was introduced by commit d93939730347 ("drm/i915: Remove the vma refcount") which moved a call to i915_active_fini() from a dropped i915_vma_release(), called on last put of the removed VMA kref, to i915_vma_parked() processing path called on last put of a GT wakeref. However, its visibility to the object debugging tool was suppressed by a bug in i915_active that was fixed two weeks later with commit e92eb246feb9 ("drm/i915/active: Fix missing debug object activation"). A VMA associated with a request doesn't acquire a GT wakeref by itself. Instead, it depends on a wakeref held directly by the request's active intel_context for a GT associated with its VM, and indirectly on that intel_context's engine wakeref if the engine belongs to the same GT as the VMA's VM. Those wakerefs are released asynchronously to VMA deactivation. Fix the issue by getting a wakeref for the VMA's GT when activating it, and putting that wakeref only after the VMA is deactivated. However, exclude global GTT from that processing path, otherwise the GPU never goes idle. Since __i915_vma_retire() may be called from atomic contexts, use async variant of wakeref put. Also, to avoid circular locking dependency, take care of acquiring the wakeref before VM mutex when both are needed. v7: Add inline comments with justifications for: - using untracked variants of intel_gt_pm_get/put() (Nirmoy), - using async variant of _put(), - not getting the wakeref in case of a global GTT, - always getting the first wakeref outside vm->mutex. v6: Since __i915_vma_active/retire() callbacks are not serialized, storing a wakeref tracking handle inside struct i915_vma is not safe, and there is no other good place for that. Use untracked variants of intel_gt_pm_get/put_async(). v5: Replace "tile" with "GT" across commit description (Rodrigo), - ---truncated---

CVE-2024-26956
Last Modified: 23 Dec 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nilfs2: fix failure to detect DAT corruption in btree and direct mappings Patch series "nilfs2: fix kernel bug at submit_bh_wbc()". This resolves a kernel BUG reported by syzbot. Since there are two flaws involved, I've made each one a separate patch. The first patch alone resolves the syzbot-reported bug, but I think both fixes should be sent to stable, so I've tagged them as such. This patch (of 2): Syzbot has reported a kernel bug in submit_bh_wbc() when writing file data to a nilfs2 file system whose metadata is corrupted. There are two flaws involved in this issue. The first flaw is that when nilfs_get_block() locates a data block using btree or direct mapping, if the disk address translation routine nilfs_dat_translate() fails with internal code -ENOENT due to DAT metadata corruption, it can be passed back to nilfs_get_block(). This causes nilfs_get_block() to misidentify an existing block as non-existent, causing both data block lookup and insertion to fail inconsistently. The second flaw is that nilfs_get_block() returns a successful status in this inconsistent state. This causes the caller __block_write_begin_int() or others to request a read even though the buffer is not mapped, resulting in a BUG_ON check for the BH_Mapped flag in submit_bh_wbc() failing. This fixes the first issue by changing the return value to code -EINVAL when a conversion using DAT fails with code -ENOENT, avoiding the conflicting condition that leads to the kernel bug described above. Here, code -EINVAL indicates that metadata corruption was detected during the block lookup, which will be properly handled as a file system error and converted to -EIO when passing through the nilfs2 bmap layer.

Last Modified: 4 Nov 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial/pmac_zilog: Remove flawed mitigation for rx irq flood The mitigation was intended to stop the irq completely. That may be better than a hard lock-up but it turns out that you get a crash anyway if you're using pmac_zilog as a serial console: ttyPZ0: pmz: rx irq flood ! BUG: spinlock recursion on CPU#0, swapper/0 That's because the pr_err() call in pmz_receive_chars() results in pmz_console_write() attempting to lock a spinlock already locked in pmz_interrupt(). With CONFIG_DEBUG_SPINLOCK=y, this produces a fatal BUG splat. The spinlock in question is the one in struct uart_port. Even when it's not fatal, the serial port rx function ceases to work. Also, the iteration limit doesn't play nicely with QEMU, as can be seen in the bug report linked below. A web search for other reports of the error message "pmz: rx irq flood" didn't produce anything. So I don't think this code is needed any more. Remove it.

Last Modified: 4 Aug 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: f2fs: fix to avoid use-after-free issue in f2fs_filemap_fault syzbot reports a f2fs bug as below: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in f2fs_filemap_fault+0xd1/0x2c0 fs/f2fs/file.c:49 Read of size 8 at addr ffff88807bb22680 by task syz-executor184/5058 CPU: 0 PID: 5058 Comm: syz-executor184 Not tainted 6.7.0-syzkaller-09928-g052d534373b7 #0 Hardware name: Google Google Compute Engine/Google Compute Engine, BIOS Google 11/17/2023 Call Trace: <TASK> __dump_stack lib/dump_stack.c:88 [inline] dump_stack_lvl+0x1e7/0x2d0 lib/dump_stack.c:106 print_address_description mm/kasan/report.c:377 [inline] print_report+0x163/0x540 mm/kasan/report.c:488 kasan_report+0x142/0x170 mm/kasan/report.c:601 f2fs_filemap_fault+0xd1/0x2c0 fs/f2fs/file.c:49 __do_fault+0x131/0x450 mm/memory.c:4376 do_shared_fault mm/memory.c:4798 [inline] do_fault mm/memory.c:4872 [inline] do_pte_missing mm/memory.c:3745 [inline] handle_pte_fault mm/memory.c:5144 [inline] __handle_mm_fault+0x23b7/0x72b0 mm/memory.c:5285 handle_mm_fault+0x27e/0x770 mm/memory.c:5450 do_user_addr_fault arch/x86/mm/fault.c:1364 [inline] handle_page_fault arch/x86/mm/fault.c:1507 [inline] exc_page_fault+0x456/0x870 arch/x86/mm/fault.c:1563 asm_exc_page_fault+0x26/0x30 arch/x86/include/asm/idtentry.h:570 The root cause is: in f2fs_filemap_fault(), vmf->vma may be not alive after filemap_fault(), so it may cause use-after-free issue when accessing vmf->vma->vm_flags in trace_f2fs_filemap_fault(). So it needs to keep vm_flags in separated temporary variable for tracepoint use.
CVE-2024-27057
Last Modified: 18 Sept 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: SOF: ipc4-pcm: Workaround for crashed firmware on system suspend When the system is suspended while audio is active, the sof_ipc4_pcm_hw_free() is invoked to reset the pipelines since during suspend the DSP is turned off, streams will be re-started after resume. If the firmware crashes during while audio is running (or when we reset the stream before suspend) then the sof_ipc4_set_multi_pipeline_state() will fail with IPC error and the state change is interrupted. This will cause misalignment between the kernel and firmware state on next DSP boot resulting errors returned by firmware for IPC messages, eventually failing the audio resume. On stream close the errors are ignored so the kernel state will be corrected on the next DSP boot, so the second boot after the DSP panic. If sof_ipc4_trigger_pipelines() is called from sof_ipc4_pcm_hw_free() then state parameter is SOF_IPC4_PIPE_RESET and only in this case. Treat a forced pipeline reset similarly to how we treat a pcm_free by ignoring error on state sending to allow the kernel's state to be consistent with the state the firmware will have after the next boot.

Last Modified: 4 May 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: go7007: fix a memleak in go7007_load_encoder In go7007_load_encoder, bounce(i.e. go->boot_fw), is allocated without a deallocation thereafter. After the following call chain: saa7134_go7007_init |-> go7007_boot_encoder |-> go7007_load_encoder |-> kfree(go) go is freed and thus bounce is leaked.

The scalable mode context entry which is not part of release domain should be cleared in release_device().
CVE-2024-32114
Last Modified: 11 Feb 2025In Apache ActiveMQ 6.x, the default configuration doesn't secure the API web context (where the Jolokia JMX REST API and the Message REST API are located). It means that anyone can use these layers without any required authentication. Potentially, anyone can interact with the broker (using Jolokia JMX REST API) and/or produce/consume messages or purge/delete destinations (using the Message REST API). To mitigate, users can update the default conf/jetty.xml configuration file to add authentication requirement: <bean id="securityConstraintMapping" class="org.eclipse.jetty.security.ConstraintMapping"> <property name="constraint" ref="securityConstraint" /> <property name="pathSpec" value="/" /> </bean> Or we encourage users to upgrade to Apache ActiveMQ 6.1.2 where the default configuration has been updated with authentication by default.

CVE-2023-52647
Last Modified: 18 Sept 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: nxp: imx8-isi: Check whether crossbar pad is non-NULL before access When translating source to sink streams in the crossbar subdev, the driver tries to locate the remote subdev connected to the sink pad. The remote pad may be NULL, if userspace tries to enable a stream that ends at an unconnected crossbar sink. When that occurs, the driver dereferences the NULL pad, leading to a crash. Prevent the crash by checking if the pad is NULL before using it, and return an error if it is.
